A Maine will should name a real person who will show up in probate court
Families still come in after a parent dies with a handwritten note, a will from another state, or nothing. A Maine probate court follows a valid Maine will. We put those wishes on paper while everyone can still sit at the table.
Name a personal representative who actually lives close enough to file papers. Name guardians if you have minor children. Say what happens to the house, the truck, and the camp. If you own a business, say who votes the membership interest.
A will is a set of instructions a clerk and a judge can follow. We draft those instructions in this office, and we sit with you while you sign.
